Materials

1. Pennies
2. Ketchup
3. Cups
4. *Any other solutions you want to experiment with like water, mustard vinegar, apple juice, or milk.

Procedure 

First, download your free worksheet Cleaning Pennies to make predictions before you start!

Using the solutions you picked, place each in a separate cup. Put one penny in every solution (make sure each penny is cover well). Give the pennies time to soak. Then wipe off the solution to reveal which penny got the cleanest! Which one worked the best? Was your prediction correct?
