Letter F Activity

Materials
- Two Glasses
- Water
- Two clementines
Procedure
Fill the two glasses with water, leaving room at the top. Peel one clementine and leave the skin on the other clementine. Place the peeled and unpeeled clementine in two different glasses. Watch to see which clementine will float and which will sink.
Remind them that float starts with the letter F and have them say it out loud.
Explained
The skin of a clementine contains air pockets. Those air pockets help the unpeeled clementine float. If you are in a pool and wearing a floaty (filled with air), you would float too!
