Get your preschooler excited about the letter C through colored carnations. Use science to change flowers to different colors. Having a pretty centerpiece after is a bonus! Be sure to download the free Letter C Activity worksheet before you start.

Materials

1. White carnations
2. Liquid food coloring
3. Clear cups/vases

Procedure

Be sure to remind your preschooler that carnation starts with C!

Trim down the stems of your white carnations to fit your cups or glasses. Add water to fill half of each cup. Add 10-15 drops of food coloring in each cup (choosing different colors for each).Add the carnations to each cup of colored water. Be sure to check on the flowers every couple of hours to see what happens!
